This article explains where ProBackup stores your data and the security measures in place to protect it.
Storage location
When you add your first app, you can choose the AWS region where your data will be stored. The available locations are:
Oceania (Sydney, Australia)
Canada (Montreal)
Asia (Singapore)
Europe (Dublin, Ireland)
Germany (Frankfurt)
Latin America (São Paulo, Brazil)
Israel (Tel Aviv)
United Kingdom (London)
United States (North Virginia)
Your chosen location applies to your entire account. All apps you back up will be stored in the same region. This choice is made once during onboarding and cannot be changed afterwards.
Note: If you created your account before this feature was introduced, your data is stored in Europe (Dublin, Ireland).
Physical security
All AWS data centres are protected by 24/7 CCTV monitoring, intrusion detection, access logging, redundant power systems, fire suppression, and water leakage detection. Each location is certified to industry standards including ISO 27001, SOC 1 & 2, and PCI Level 1.
Access controls
ProBackup enforces strict access policies for all production systems:
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is required for all production databases and networks.
Privileged access is restricted to authorised personnel only.
Access is revoked promptly when no longer required.
All data encryption keys are securely managed to minimise risk.
