By default, ProBackup connects to your Airtable account via OAuth. If you prefer, you can also set up your backup using a personal access token instead.
Step 1: Create a personal access token
Go to the Airtable developer hub.
Click Create token.
Enter a name for your token (e.g. "ProBackup").
Click + Add a scope and select the required scopes. Here is the full list of scopes required for ProBackup:
Click + Add a base or + Add all resources to set the access level for your token. You can grant access to:
A single base
Multiple bases across different workspaces
All current and future bases in a workspace you own
Click Create token and copy the token value.
Note: Store your token securely. Airtable will only show it once.
Step 2: Paste the token in ProBackup
Open https://app.probackup.io/onboarding/airtable/service_token (log in as the admin of the Airtable backup).
Paste the token and click Connect Airtable.
If your Airtable backup already exists, this replaces its connection; your backed-up data and history stay, and a full re-sync starts right away. Make sure the token has access to every base you want backed up: bases the token cannot see are no longer pulled.
Do not send the token by email or chat, not even through a secure link. Our team never needs to see it.
