ProBackup stores all your backed-up data securely on encrypted servers. Google Drive sync is an optional feature that gives you an additional copy of your data in a location you own and control. It is available on the Pro and Premium plans.
This article explains four reasons to enable Google Drive sync.
1. An extra layer of redundancy
By syncing to Google Drive, you create an independent copy of your data separate from both your SaaS app and ProBackup. If your app or ProBackup is temporarily unavailable, you still have access to your data through your own Google infrastructure.
2. Accessible in a familiar format
Google Drive sync converts your backed-up records into Google Sheets. This makes it easy for team members who do not have access to ProBackup to review data in a format they already use. Google Sheets are simple to read, share, and analyse without any special tools.
3. Easy bulk downloads
When your data is synced to Google Drive, it is organised into folders by app and project. You can select any folder and download it as a ZIP file in a few clicks.
Tip: If you enable file and attachment syncing, this method lets you bulk download all documents and images attached to your tasks at once.
4. Automated local backups
You can combine Google Drive sync with Google Drive for Desktop to keep an automatic local copy of your data. Once installed, Drive for Desktop syncs your Google Drive folders to your hard drive.
This creates a three-step backup chain:
ProBackup captures data from your SaaS app.
ProBackup syncs that data to your Google Drive.
Drive for Desktop downloads it to your local device.
This setup ensures you have a local, searchable copy of your data even without internet access.
