This article explains what happens when a payment for your ProBackup subscription does not go through, and how to get it paid.
Why a card is declined
The most common reasons are an expired or replaced card, a spending limit on the card, and a bank that blocks repeated attempts on the same amount. Your card issuer decides this, so the message you see in ProBackup is only the result they returned.
How to get the payment through
We cannot trigger a retry for you. A new attempt starts when the payment method is saved again.
Ask your bank or card provider to allow the amount and the merchant.
Scroll down to Payment method and click Update payment method then enter the card details again. The same card is fine.
The invoice stays open until an authorisation succeeds. You can also open the invoice from Invoice History and pay it directly.
If your subscription is billed by invoice
Some accounts are set to pay by invoice instead of by card. A card can still be visible on the account, but it is never charged automatically: every invoice has to be paid separately.
If the payment keeps failing
Your backups stop when the subscription lapses, and the account is closed after the retention period. Mail us before that happens if you need more time, and mention the invoice number. Contact details are in How to contact support.
