How to restore Trello data

This article explains which data types ProBackup can restore for Trello and any known limitations.

Boards

When you restore a board, a new board is created in the workspace. All cards, comments, and attachments are restored with it. If the original organisation no longer exists, a new one is created automatically.

Note: Views and automations will not be restored.

Cards

When you restore a card, a new card is created in the related board. The following data is included: description, members, attachments, custom field values, comments, checklists, and labels.

Comments

When you restore a comment, a duplicate is created in the related card.

Files

When you restore a file, it is added to the related card.

Custom fields

When you restore a custom field, a duplicate is created in the related board. Custom fields can only be restored if the original field has been deleted, as Trello requires each field name to be unique.

Note: Field values will not be restored when restoring a custom field.

Labels

When you restore a label, it is added back to the related board. Labels can only be restored if the original label has been deleted, as Trello requires each label to be unique.
