This article explains which data types ProBackup can restore for Jira and any known limitations.
Issues
When you restore an issue, a duplicate is created in the related project. The following data is included: description, attachments, comments, labels, and most custom field values.
Known limitations:
Not all custom field values will be restored.
Components will not be restored.
Child issues will not be restored when restoring a parent issue.
Comments
When you restore a comment, a duplicate is created in the related issue.
Files
When you restore a file, it is added to the related issue.
Projects
The restore of projects is currently not supported but will be added later in 2026.
