This article explains how the restore process works in ProBackup and what to expect when you recover data.
Your existing data is never overwritten
ProBackup never modifies or overwrites existing data in your app. Every restore creates a new copy from your backup and adds it alongside your current data.
Where restored items appear
The restored copy is added to the original parent location:
A project or board is restored as a new item in the related workspace.
A record or task is restored as a new item in the related project or board.
A comment is restored as a new entry in the related record or task.
Related data is included
When you restore a record, ProBackup automatically restores related data as well. For example, restoring a task will also restore its comments, files, and subtasks where supported.
Note: Restore capabilities vary by app. Some data types cannot be restored due to API limitations. Check the integration articles in our Help Center for app-specific details.
