Here’s an overview of the data types that Pro Backup can restore for monday.com.
Boards
When you restore a board, a new board will be added to the workspace. The following data will be restored: Items with their values, comments. Files, views and automations will not be restored.
Due to API constraints the following field types cannot be restored and will be skipped:
Name
Button
Lookup
Board-relation
Votes
Pulse-updated (last updated)
Color-picker
Pulse-log (creation log)
Pulse-id (item ID)
Lookup
Duration (time tracking)
Creation_log
Items
When you restore monday.com items, you have two options:
Option 1: Restore as new records
Creates a copy of the selected items in the original board. The following data will be restored: Item description, assignee & due date, custom fields & values, comments (i.e. updates will be restored, but not the activity log), files (except for files that are uploaded directly to the item). This is the safest option and does not affect any existing monday.com items.
Note: Subitems, relationship & mirros fields will not be restored.
Option 2: Overwrite existing records
Updates existing items with the backed-up field values. Use this to roll back changes to an item that still exists in your board. When you select "Overwrite existing records", a field picker appears. Select which columns you want to overwrite.
Comments
When you restore a comment, a duplicate of the comment will be created in the related record.
Files
When you restore a file, the file will be added to the related task.
Custom fields
When you restore a field, a duplicate of the field will be added to the related project. All field values of the existing tasks will be restored as well.
